Going carbon neutral
With the help of Carbon Clear Ltd Bell Microsystems has become a carbon neutral company to improve the company’s carbon footprint. This has been certified by Carbon Clear Ltd and conducted to ISO 14064 standards.
Bell Microsystems aim for neutrality involved staff having to assess day-to-day operations and identify ways to reduce energy consumption with Carbon Clear’s environmental improvement programme.
The programme enabled Bell Microsystems to implement a future management strategy to reduce the company’s future carbon output and to cancel remaining emissions through a carbon reduction project in Sudan.
Sudan Project
Bell Microsystems has invested in the Darfur Low Smoke Stoves Project, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by helping poor families – in El Fasher town – to use modern sources of energy for cooking. In addition to reducing emissions, the project helps to address ‘energy poverty’, improve health by reducing indoor air pollution and it also reduces the pressure on forest resources in Northern Darfur.
