Bell Microsystems short-listed for ‘Management Team of the Year’ Site Survey.
Bell Microsystems, a leading supplier of business IT solutions and services, has been short-listed for a site survey in the ‘Management Team of the Year’ category for the Hampshire Business Awards. The award, which is sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and backed by the Daily Echo, is being judged by a panel of experts that will select the winner based on a track record of strong leadership and the ability to adapt to new challenges and plan for the future.“Being short-listed for this site survey is a great endorsement of the entire management team here at Bell Microsystems,” comments Alastair Bell, Managing Director, Bell Microsystems. “Despite difficult market conditions, we’ve continued to grow and generate profits – and that’s no accident. It has taken commitment, diligence and consistency in order to make sure we’ve continued to identify new revenue opportunities, assess which new IT services should be introduced and invest in developing teams that can devise and implement every detail of the new services, then take them to market and win new customers.
“One key market, which we’ve developed in recent years, is the disposal of old IT systems. IT disposal is not a trivial task, as old IT equipment will normally contain huge amounts of commercially sensitive data or personal information on customers and employees. So businesses have to be sure that, when old systems are decommissioned, great care is taken to destroy data and security isn’t compromised. Furthermore, with new environmental regulations – including the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive – redundant IT equipment has to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.”
In 2007, Bell Microsystems was one of the first IT specialists to become an ATF (Authorised Treatment Facility) and the company was recently approved by the Environment Agency as an AATF (Approved Authorised Treatment Facility). This has added to Bell Microsystems’ credentials as an IT specialist that can take care of its customers’ entire IT infrastructure requirements – from the supply of new systems, through to ongoing support and then compliant disposal and recycling services at the end of a system’s working life.
Under the guidance of the current management team, Bell Microsystems has enjoyed a level of consistent success that is the envy of many within the IT industry. In four separate years, the company has been listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 league table of the fastest growing unquoted technology companies, by sales growth. Bell Microsystems has also won MicroScope magazine’s ‘Storage Reseller of the Year’ for three years in a row and, in 2009, was also short-listed in the ‘Environmental Company of the Year’ category in MicroScope’s ACEs awards for excellence in the IT supplier channel.
